Insurance Agent Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance FAQs of Today's Customer

As a multi lines insurance agent at the Jeff Milber Agency, I begin to notice patterns in the questions I hear from customers regarding various areas of their insurance policies. what is most surprising to me is the fact that their previous agent or carrier never filled them in on the most basic details of their policies. Although each carrier may have small differences in their insurance policies, the fundamentals are all quite comparable across companies. Below are just a few common questions followed by my answers to them.

Q. What does the term "Full Coverage" mean in regards to an auto insurance policy?

A. "Full coverage" is a term used to simply state the fact the you carry not just one but both Comprehensive and Collision coverage.

Q. If my son or daughter obtains their driving permit, are they covered while driving my car?

A. Yes, they will be covered . With most carriers they do not need to be added to the policy as a driver until they get their actual driver license.

Q. If I decide to leave my current carrier before my renewal comes up and switch to your agency, will I be able to obtain a refund of any premium I already paid in advance?

A. Yes you will. Although insurance in California is typically paid in advance, the carrier is obligated to refund your premium on a pro-rated basis should you cancel earlier than the renewal date. In rare instances with a handful of carriers, I have seen a minimal early termination fee.
